Pakwan - The food tradition, Pimple Saudagar

A lot of food joints, restaurants and food outlets keep opening everyday. Some make a mark ont heir customers while the others are just like that. We saw a lot of positive reviews about pakwan on different online platforms and thought of giving it a try. They are famous for their jumbo thali which is much more than just sufficient for a group of 6. We went out for dinner on a weekday after office. The waiting was huge. They have a good seating capacity and a gathering hall as well. They have a good open space for waiting and have some activities for the kids to pass time while waiting. There are also wooden cots(manjiyan) to sit and wait. The inside decor is good. Food is delicious and the service is prompt. We were just 3 adults so went for a-la carte. The pakwan special thali meant for a group of 6 was getting into a lot of wastage in most of the cases as per my observation.

Pizza Hut, Calangute, Goa

Kids and adults are always in for pizza alike. So when the kids demanded pizza for dinner, everyone was happily ready for it. There was a pizza hut outlet few metres away from our hotel. We dropped in there and got a comfortable round table sofa seating. We waited for our order to be taken. No one was willing to take the order, most of the items.on the menu were not available and the service was very slow. Whatever was ordered the first time, that was it. We did not have the courage to order again and again wait for ages for the order to arrive. The kids were already tired and sleepy. We finished the pizzas and garlic breads and returned back to our hotel. That specific outlet needs to boost up their image and service.

Blue Apple Restaurant and Bar

We wanted to have good dinner not too far away from our hotel. Searched online and found this place interesting. It was approx 10 min drive from our hotel. The restaurant had bar on the ground floor and the restaurant seating was on the first floor. The seating area had big windows and a TV. We were hungry and ordered the soups and starters, followed by main course. The service was slow, the quantity was less and even the taste of the food wasn't great. It was taking them eternity to get salad. It was an overall disappointing visit which had to be covered up with amul Ice Cream from an amul parlour on the way. Request everyone, please post only your honest reviews about a place and not if you've been invited or asked to review.

Pind Balluchi, Calangute, Goa

Around 20 hours after leaving home, we had finally reached our resort in goa located in calangute. All of us were hungry and wanted to have a good lunch. After check-in and shower, we walked down to Pind Balluchi restaurant located a few steps from our resort. The restaurant was nicely decorated. It wasn't crowded. We got comfortable sofa seats. We ordered food which consisted of masala papad, paneer tikka masala, dal makhani, bread basket. The service was good, food was yummy, ambience was relaxing. A very good experience overall.
