Good Food After a Great Journey: Our Green Planet Experience

After spending a peaceful evening at Adiyogi near Isha Foundation, Chikkaballapur, it was time to begin our journey back home. As expected, all that exploring had worked up quite an appetite, and the next mission was clear—find a good place for dinner!

Since we weren't familiar with the area and had no clue about the dining options nearby, we turned to our trusted travel companion: Google. After browsing through a few highly-rated places and keeping some backup options handy, we decided to head to Green Planet Restaurant, located within Veerdency Resort.

The drive there was interesting. A short detour through a rather rough stretch of road made us wonder if we had made the right choice despite the promising online ratings. But about ten minutes later, we arrived at the property and instantly felt reassured. The restaurant looked inviting, and we were glad we had trusted the reviews.

After settling into our table, we were greeted by a familiar sight of modern dining—a QR code menu. While it's certainly an eco-friendly alternative to traditional menu cards, it does have one small drawback: everyone ends up glued to their phones when they could be chatting instead! Nevertheless, we scanned, browsed, debated, and finally placed our order.

The staff was courteous and upfront about a few dishes that weren't available, which helped us adjust our choices before ordering. Since the food was going to take a little while, we used the time to freshen up and relax after the drive.

Soon enough, steaming hot dishes began arriving at the table. The corn cheese balls, pasta, and soups looked absolutely tempting. Not everything was perfect, though. The mushroom soup wasn't quite right and had to be sent back, and what arrived as "mac and cheese" initially looked more like a white sauce penne pasta. Thankfully, the team quickly replaced it.

The highlights of the meal were definitely the Manchow soup, the creamy mac and cheese, the crispy corn cheese balls, and the delicious red sauce penne pasta. By then, our hungry group was fully focused on enjoying every bite.

Good food, prompt service, and a comfortable ambience made Green Planet a pleasant surprise on our journey home. We left with happy hearts, satisfied stomachs, and one more memorable food stop to add to our travel stories.

Sometimes, the best dining experiences are the ones you discover unexpectedly along the way!
